Hints & Tips
With today’s advancements in skin care ingredients, time consuming beauty regimens are now undertaken as a matter of choice, rather than necessity.
So, if you’re time poor, or just wish to do the basics, the following three step regimen is about as minimal as it can get. Even when desperately time poor, don’t be tempted to skip it.
The key to maintaining a healthy skin is consistency!
Cleanse
Use a cleanser that also contains both AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid) and BHA (Beta Hydroxy Acid). AHA gently exfoliates the skin – BHA dissolves the oil that lines the pores and also acts as an antibacterial.
Rationale: Leaves the skin feeling squeeky clean, reduces the inclination to over exfoliate, sloughs away the dead skin cells and increases moisture retention.
What to definitely avoid: Cleansers with alcohol - they strip the skin of their natural oils, over exfoliating – which send the oil glands into over drive, hot water – damages capillaries.
Moisturise
Use a moisturiser that contains both AHA and BHA.
Rationale: Reduces oil build-up in the pore, maintains an antibacterial environment, increases moisture retention, helps protect the skin from environmental pollutants, reduces pigmentation and scarring.
What to definitely avoid: Products with high levels of glycerin, products with mineral oils, products with zero preservatives (short self life and open to bacterial invasion).
Sunscreen ... No going past this one!
It goes without saying that you don’t need to apply sunscreen at night!
We’re sure you’ll agree that this VERY basic three step regimene, is neither time consuming nor, brain taxing.
